Rosa at Chhatrapati Shivaji
International Airport Mumbai

Life simply does not get better than this. The sun was shining, Rosa
was in love, and Navinder was waiting to meet her. She had never
been to India before and everything she saw was unimaginable, from the screaming porters competing to carry her bags to the throngsof people everywhere. It seemed as if everyone had the festive air ofpartygoers, and she shared their excitement and nervous anticipation.

Rosa grew up in the small village of Pagadian on Mindanao Island
in the Philippines, so the hustle and bustle of Mumbai airport was
initially overpowering. All of the Saturday market-goers in Pagadian
could have fit into one small section of the airport without even being noticed. There was a babble of languages she had never heard before, and aromas of spices and incense that were completely foreign to her.
Men rushed by in floppy white trousers, bright shirts, and purple
or black turbans. The women filled out this carnival atmosphere in
their colourful silk patterned saris draped over blouses. She had a
few moments of panic, wondering if her fiancé was really going to be
waiting for her.

Rosa was another character in the book that I created. She loved teaching, loved working with little kids and was a great teacher but she gave it all up to marry her Internet sweetheart. You will have to read the book to find out that shocking story of how her dreams were shattered in India.

She had always dreamed of running her own school after she finished working in Mandalay but willingly gave up her dream for her lover. Would she ever get back to fulfilling her destiny? Would she ever have children of her own?

Now that I have introduced you to two of the teachers, Ha Thuy from Vietnam and Rosa from the Philippines, I hope you are getting excited enough to read the book. I know you will be both enchanted and fascinated by how things work out in a very surprising ending.
